Steaming & ironing
Steam
What type of water should I use?
It's perfectly fine to use tap water as long as it's soft. However, if you live in a region with hard (calcareous) water, we recommend using distilled water.
How do I steam?
Grasp the bottom of your garment and stretch the fabric slightly. Press the nozzle of your steam iron against the fabric and move it in any direction you want - up, down, or sideways. The most important thing is that you hold the device firmly against the fabric. Try to steam the garment from the inside. This method is particularly effective for removing wrinkles from cashmere items.
Horizontal steaming is also possible. For example, place the item of clothing on a table (place a towel underneath) or on your bed. This is ideal for smoothing out creases in trousers.
It is really that easy! And finally a tip: just be lazy. Only steam the collar, cuffs and bottom of the shirt if you plan to wear it under a sweater or cardigan.
Iron
It is recommended that you only iron your sweater with a steam iron. Wait until the iron has completely produced steam. Then move it gently and without pressure over the cashmere fabric. Be particularly careful when ironing so as not to damage the fibers. Ironing with steam is a much gentler method of smoothing your favorite cashmere.
Odor removal
Contrary to popular belief, washing is not the only way to remove unpleasant odors from your clothes. Most odors can be minimized or even eliminated by airing out your belongings overnight. Steaming offers another option as the hot steam kills bacteria. After airing out and steaming, you can finally spray your clothes with a textile spray (Cashmere Refresher) and they will smell fresh again.
